71st Street Beach - Day 18

Once again counting in the snow presents its challenges.  To close and lines converge, to hard and the snow breaks off and the lines don't scratch the frozen sand.  The bare spots are a different level from the snow.  The ends of branches skid over the surface in different patterns.  I saw question marks and the mark of puzzlement.

Frozen hoof prints in the snow accompanied today's lines.  I assume from the trailers nearby, that they are from a police horse, yet despite many marked trailers, I saw no animals or barns or police.  In Iraq, police represent authority and this makes them a target for bombers. 6,400.
