Widowsweave at Lighthouse Beach - Day 22

Occasionally, the double lines got blurred - no more than single lines - but it still reminded me of all the widows who go uncounted because they leave no mark to those who are counting.  Jaber Alturfee, Iraqi humanitarian worker and refugee, said that his first job when he returns to Iraq would be to survey - to count, get names and find out how conditions are on the ground, so that budgets and plans can be made.

Today was a beautiful day - the exact opposite of yesterday.  Yesterday I had no time, no sand, everything frozen, strong northeast winds.  Today I had acres of sand, families and lovers out on the beach, sunshine and a branch that left a double line every time.   I racked up 17,200 lines while watching two men and one of their little sons play football and slide on the ice.   Later a young couple came out and they ventured up the mountains of ice - she was wearing a short dress with bare legs and high heel boots!
